Guitar & Bass Lessons for the Modern Musician

At Music House, our private guitar and bass lessons are designed with a single goal in mind: to get students making music out in the real world. We believe that true learning happens when you apply your knowledge, not just in a lesson studio, but on a stage, in a band, and with other musicians. This philosophy shapes every aspect of our innovative curriculum.

Beyond the Lesson Studio

We’ve built an ideal environment for any budding guitarist or bassist by combining top-tier instruction with a world of real-life opportunities.

  • Live Performance: All of our students are encouraged to perform in our state-of-the-art auditorium, building confidence on a real stage.
  • Workshop Bands: Apply your skills in a collaborative setting by joining one of our Workshop Bands, where you’ll learn to play with a full rhythm section and other instruments.
  • Jam with the Pros!: Take the stage with our professional teachers and top students during our free monthly Jam Sessions. This is a unique chance to get real-time feedback and experience what it's like to perform with a pro backing band.

This combination of curriculum, dedicated faculty, and diverse performance opportunities creates an educational experience you won't find anywhere else in the Kansas City metro.

Getting Started

We offer guitar and bass lessons in both 30 and 60-minute weekly sessions. Lessons are available at our locations in Overland Park, Lenexa, and Prairie Village.

How do I sign up?

To sign up, call us at 913-562-4112 or click here to enroll. Some upper level workshops may require a brief evaluation by a program manager. Placement in non-beginner group classes may also require a brief in-person evaluation.

Do I need my own instrument?

Yes. For Core Classes, Workshops, and Private Lessons you will need your own instrument to practice with. The only instruments we provide at Music House are drums, pianos, microphones, and amplifiers.

Do you rent instruments?

No, but many local music stores close by rent and sell instruments. Call us for recommendations.

Will I need any materials?

Some lessons and classes may require materials like books and metronomes in addition to your instrument. If you're unsure of what to bring, never fear! We'll stay in touch prior to your first lesson if you have any questions.
