Welcome back to our series introducing the talented instructors leading FREE Introductory Classes at the Good Cheer Bash! This week, we're spotlighting the wonderful piano teacher, Cole. To show you why his lessons are so popular, we sat down with one of his students, Charlotte, to discover what makes learning with him so special—straight from the student’s perspective! Charlotte's insights are a perfect preview of the fun and learning you can expect at Cole's session. Make sure to read to the end for details on how to join his free class on Sunday, December 7th, at 4:00 PM (the full event is 2:30-5:30) in our Prairie Village location!

Right away, Charlotte enthusiastically shared her favorite things about learning from Cole: the flexibility and fun he brings to every session. In Charlotte’s own words:

"Lessons with Cole are awesome because I get to choose what we work on, and he always makes it super fun—plus he’s just a funny, really good guy. I love that I can bring in stuff from school, and he’s always up for whatever I’m interested in!"

When asked to describe Cole further, Charlotte lit up. ā€œHe’s funny, a good musician, and just a good person,ā€ she added with a grin. The conversation uncovered even more great moments—like when Charlotte described how Cole brings creativity to every lesson. She’s currently mastering ā€œThe Troubadourā€ on piano, a piece she enjoys because of its dynamics and lively pedaling. Looking ahead, Charlotte hopes to tackle more classical music and challenging pieces, and she feels confident knowing Cole is open to exploring whatever she’s interested in, even while she manages other instruments like the flute.

From Cole’s perspective, he described Charlotte as a dedicated and inspiring student—someone who always arrives prepared and isn’t afraid to try new things.

The interview wrapped up with Charlotte sharing the best advice she’d give another prospective student: ā€œHe’s very open to whatever you want to do, and he’ll make it fun no matter what.ā€ It’s clear that the mutual respect and genuine joy for music between Cole and his students is truly at the heart of every lesson.

We’re thrilled to feature Cole in our next free class—students like Charlotte are a testament to the positive, personalized impact he has as a teacher!
