Ross Valenzuela

Ross Valenzuela is a graduate student at UMKC for Music Education, and has graduated with his Masters in Music Therapy and is a licensed CBMT music therapist. He earned his BM in performance for both Classical and Jazz Saxophone, and has been teaching in both the Kansas City and Central California area for students ages 4 to 65+ since 2018.

He has taught and co-led a high school music department for four years and has taught various ages for collegiate organizations for 3 years. He was the Event Manager for the CSU Stanislaus Department of Jazz Festival for four years and is a co-founder for the Central California Wind Ensemble, a 501(c) based in the Central California area that provides professional classical performing and networking experiences for young performing artists modeled after philharmonic organizations. He finished his 1,050 hour contracted stay at Cornerstones of Care to provide music therapy services to adolescents reuniting with their family or proceeding through the foster care system.

Ross aims to use his music therapy education to frame and inform his teaching, create and achieve holistic and proactive goals, and inspire through music.
