Levi Birks

Levi Birks is from Olathe, Kansas, and is currently a Student at the University of Missouri–Kansas City pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies. He began his musical journey playing percussion and drum set at a young age, and over the years that passion has grown into performing, studying, and teaching music all around Kansas City. His teaching experience has grown to include drum set, percussion, jazz, rock, pop, ensemble performance, and private instruction, as well as working with students with special needs.

Teaching has become one of the most rewarding parts of his musical career. He enjoys helping students discover confidence, creativity, and a genuine love for music. Every student learns differently, so he strives to create lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each individual’s goals and learning style. Whether a student wants to play for fun, prepare for auditions, or pursue music more seriously, he wants to help them build both strong fundamentals, and most importantly a lifelong appreciation for music.
