Jerad Tomasino Program Coordinator / Guitar / Bass / Ukulele

Jerad Tomasino is an American born composer, producer, and teaching artist from K.I. Sawyer, Michigan, living and working in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Conservatory of Music and Dance in 2012 with a Bachelor’s of Music Composition & Minor in Business Entrepreneurship. He also studied Audio Engineering & Production & BRC Studios. During this time, he co-founded Golden Sound Records & The Crossroads Summer Block Party which ran for 6 years. Jerad’s been teaching music for five years at various institutions including initiating the guitar program at the A-flat Youth Orchestra. Jerad’s approach to teaching is being an advocate for each individual student, and meeting them where they are at. He strives to develop a musical dialogue that deepens and enriches in practice, understanding, and performance.

In addition to teaching, Jerad has composed for all instruments, and has released 5+ original LPs as a band leader and solo artist. He’s commissioned work for some independent films, and often collaborates with other songwriters and producers on projects. In his free time, Jerad likes to listen to music, cook, watch movies, take walks, and skateboard (or watch these days). Music, and what humans can do with only 12 notes, is what constantly inspires him. He loves the surprises that music can bring: something familiar presented in a new way, or something new presented in a familiar way.
