Tyler Kemp is a composer, pianist, bassist, and educator living in the Kansas City area. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and a Master of Music degree from Arizona State University. He also holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Ouachita Baptist University. His compositions have been performed across the United States, Switzerland, and Ecuador.
After teaching music theory courses at Arizona State University and Missouri State University, Tyler realized his true pedagogical interest was teaching private lessons and small groups. Tyler has taught college courses and private lessons for ten years. He hopes to help students develop their musicianship and creativity into lifelong passions. His own musical interests are wide-ranging, including video game soundtracks, ragtime piano, 20th century ballet, doo-wop, early jazz, ska, rock, and film soundtracks.
