Manuel enjoys learning about each student’s background and interest in music. While teaching in private studios, community music schools, and summer camps, he has always striven to get to know his students as individuals. "Musical study can be challenging," says Manuel, "so I always try to keep the experience fun and exciting for my students. No matter what level you're at, as long as you're enjoying what you're doing- that's what's important!" This approach has led to several of Manuel's students winning competitive awards and being accepted into programs at prestigious Universities.
Manuel has earned two Master’s degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at The Florida State University. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at The University of West Georgia. Previous teachers include Read Gainsford, Ian Hobson, Diana Dumlavwalla, George Mann, and Carol Gingerich. He’s currently a graduate student in UMKC’s Artist Certificate program where he studies piano with Artist in Residence Sean Chen.
