Kim Foskett, a Kansas City native, received her bachelor’s degree in oboe performance from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, where she studied with Barbara Bishop. While in school she was a regular performer in UMKC’s orchestra and wind ensembles, and has been a soloist for their Bach’s Lunch series.
Kim’s teaching style focuses on excitement, particularly in the beginning stages. “Oboe is a wonderful, but challenging instrument,” says Kim. “Keeping my students engaged and inspired is essential to helping them achieve their musical goals.”
In addition to teaching private lessons, Kim has coached local high school oboe sections. She also makes reeds for her students. She also participates in various community orchestras including the Midwest Chamber Ensemble.
