Forrest Fowler

Forrest Fowler Guitar/Bass/Ukulele

Forrest Fowler is a performer, composer, and educator living in Kansas City, Missouri. Forrest graduated from Ottawa University in 2016 with a BM in Jazz Studies and is currently pursuing his Masters degree from the conservatory at UMKC. Forrest’s passion for music began as a freshman in high school when he received a bass guitar for Christmas. He immediately began learning as many basslines as possible by ear, learning from The Who, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and others. A few years later, he started learning the guitar and tuba for his high school band and began to realize the value of music education and the opportunities it can create. He has been teaching guitar and bass lessons since 2015; his favorite thing about teaching is helping students find their own voice on their respective instrument. In addition to teaching, Forrest maintains a busy schedule as a sideman and bandleader in the greater KC area, performing in a wide variety of styles and settings.
